- Federal Employment Presentation by Brian Grubb (Newark One-Stop)
Veterans – we have a special opportunity to host an exceptional one time only federal
employment presentation. On Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 1 PM, Brian Grubb the Veterans
Employment Coordinator for two Service Regions which covers 8 states will be our presenter.
Brian’s mission is threefold:
1) Attract, recruit and hire veterans into the Veterans Administration (VA)
2) Ensure hiring managers and supervisors are thoroughly aware of special authorities to hire Vets.
3) Open opportunities to Veteran Employment and ensure that Veterans are able to
successfully enter the Veteran’s Administration workforce as well as other federal agencies.
Brian travels a great deal. He works diligently with individual Veterans to help them complete
the recruitment process. His knowledge and advocacy is invaluable. As an exceptional
facilitator he will provide priceless information on the federal resume and federal application
process.
Join us on the Newark Campus of Ohlone College at 39399 Cherry Street in Newark,
Room 1211 at 1:00 pm. Please arrive approximately thirty (30) minutes earlier to receive a
FREE parking pass.
We are encouraging each of you Veterans receiving this to make a diligent effort to bring
three more Vets to this special workshop. Thank you for your support!

- "The East Bay Stand Down was [a success] – over 400 veterans were served! We had so many
volunteers we could not use them all – thank you all. How amazing that in difficult times so
many would volunteer to help others. So many businesses and organizations came together
to help veterans – provide clothing, meals, showers, healthcare to include podiatry,
optometry, and a myriad of counseling. Even dental care – reservists, active duty, and private
dentists all came together to provide that care. Legal was there. I am afraid I am forgetting
something but know that you are truly not forgotten – those you helped will not forget!"
